Dryer exhaust systems must comply with IRC (International Residential Code) and IMC standards to maintain safety and home insurance validity.
Approved Duct Materials: Codes mandate rigid or semi-rigid metal ductwork with smooth interiors—plastic, PVC, or foil accordions are fire hazards and strict violations.
Maximum Length Restrictions: Exhaust runs must not exceed code limits (typically 35 feet), subtracting standard length deductions for every 90° and 45° bend.
No Screws in Assembly: Joints must be sealed with foil tape or clamps; sheet metal screws penetrating the pipe trap lint and create instant blockages.
Termination Hood Requirements: Exterior vents must feature proper backdraft dampers or gravity flaps without screen mesh that traps lint.

Note: Cleaning pre-existing, improperly installed, or unapproved vent lines (such as unstrapped foil, plastic accordion, or unattached hidden joints behind walls) carries inherent risks. Mechanical cleaning on compromised lines in non-visible areas may cause or reveal pipe separation or damage. Clients must review and sign a liability waiver authorizing cleaning on uninspected or non-compliant hidden ductwork before service begins.

All findings and defects discovered during inspection are promptly reported to the homeowner once completed. Most minor repairs can be performed at the time of service, while moderate and severe repairs will require an estimate to be created for service to be performed at a later dedicated date.
All reports are digitally edited and formatted at our home office. The inspection report will be delivered to the client’s provided e-mail by 8:00pm the day of full payment for services rendered, is received. -
While physical estimates and invoicing can be requested and provided in certain circumstances, we prefer to provide these digitally along with the inspection report for better in-house tracking and formatting. We appreciate our client’s cooperation.
